| AeroKat feline aerosol chamber |
Aerosol medications delivered by metered dose inhalers (MDIs) or 'puffers' have been used to treat human repiratory conditions since the 1960s. Replacing long-term orally delivered medications, aerosols have become the standard of care for human patients. These medications (glucocorticoids and bronchodilators) can now be delivered effectively to cats by inhalation. Click here to learn more about the features of the AeroKat feline aerosol chamber.
Feline asthma mimics the human forma of asthma and responds well to the pharmacological agents used with humans. However, because typical MDIs propel a dose at speeds of over 60 mph, effective delivery of the medications to cats without a delivery system is extremely difficult. In addition, a human patient can synchronise a deep breath with a puff of medication - the average feline cannot!

| AeroKat FAC in use |
The AeroKat* feline aerosol chamber is a system that aids the formation of an aerosol cloud and helps to separate the large particles from the small (breathable) particles in the metered dose. Inhalation through the AeroKat* FAC facilitates aerosol delivery to the lungs. Most cats will take to the chamber quite readily.
The AeroKat* FAC facilitates the delivery of medications from the MDI to the lungs and provides a therapeutic dose while significantly reducing the risk of side-effects.
