Currently two different types of inhaled medication are being commonly used with the AeroKat feline aerosol chamber.

Steroids

Steroids are potent anti-inflammatories and modulate the excessive immune response leading to your cat's symptoms of asthma. They are generally used on a daily or twice daily basis to prevent airway hypersensititvity and reduce the risk of an attack.

Bronchodilators

Bronchodilators cause the airways deep down in the lungs to dilate and so relieve the spasm which happens during an asthma attack. They can either be used twice daily as prophylaxis or more commonly in an acute crisis to relieve a severe asthma attack.
